I had a couple of nagging issues with my truck that could have required a lot of diagnostics as one was electrical and the other was probably caused by the age of the vehicle. Both items were diagnosed and fixed within a few hours for a reasonable fee. One part had to be ordered from the lower 48. They called when it came in and said it would only take a few minutes to fix. I went in without an appt and drove off less than an hour later. Always courteous too. Great place.

Friendly, fair, reasonable for my vehicle. Good at recommending future maintenance needs, leaving it up to you in deciding how much to invest in your particular car per your budget at the time. They seem to be straight forward with you for any direct concerns. They keep a record and occasionally will send a reminder. While I was there a woman in the lobby with a child ( with military husband out of town for another week ) paid for a repair. ER Auto also recommended to her a needed oil change but she said her husband was intending to do that upon his return. I could tell she was appreciative of them helping her out promptly right when she needed it. A female mechanic was taking care of her. They seemed completely ok about the DIY oil change. Seemed like your trusted local shop. Open, friendly lobby, efficient well organized with a community feel to it; completely the opposite of the vibe of a national chain sitting off of a highway exit Outside. Chock me up for a recommendation and will be back there without hesitation when the next thing comes up.

Recently took my Subaru into the dealer for repair of the AC compressor which they didn't fix instead they charged me for the 90k service before I needed it. Took the car home only to have the compressor bearing go out by the time I got home. Ran it over to ERA and they came out with me to verify the problem and hunted down the parts and worked me into the schedule quickly. Even took me home while I waited for the repair. When they called with the estimate they didn't object to my deletion of some suggested parts needed for warranty and adjusted the estimate fairly. These guys pay attention to customers and are honest, that's huge in my book and they will have my future business.

Eagle River Automotive is the only place that we can get it done right the first time. We live in South Anchorage and still drive all the way out to Eagle River to have our vehicles serviced. Over the last 3 years, I have had nothing but problems from other auto repair places requiring for some reason, necessitating that we return the vehicles at least 3 times before the problem is fixed, which seems to be the norm in the car repair world in the Anchorage Alaska area. Seriously, the Anchorage area stinks when it comes to competent repair people who care and know how to do the job right the first time, that is why I now take our vehicles to Eagle River Automotive - It may be farther to drive, but time is saved when I don't have to keep taking it back to get the work done right! Keep up the good work guys!

It had been awhile since needing any mechanical help but when one of the autos began to act up, I knew I wanted to return to Eagle River Automotive. I made an appointment early, checked in my auto, got a call later that afternoon with the estimate, approved it, and picked it up the next day. Each procedure was well explained for approval before any action took place. And the bill was fair, not outrageous at all. I feel safe taking my business there as they've always done good work. I believe if I had a problem, I could take it back and it would be taken care of but that hasn't happened yet and I've used them for fifteen years now. I truly believe this is an honest shop with good employees at the desk and in the back.

My truck ended up having three other major issues that I hadn't known about, but needed to be repaired as well. All my questions were answered and explained to me and all the repair work was done in a very timely manner. I thought the amount of the bill was very fair. Had mog ball joints installed and realigned by these guys. Thier estimate was better than the dealership which tried to hosed me for the repair so decided to give them a try. The got the job done on time, got the right parts installed and did a good job on the alignment. Truck tracked near perfect. I even had the alignment checked by American tire just to be sure and these guys gave me an accurate honest job, Better yet they came in well under thier estimate. Whats not to like?

We have never had a problem with Eagle River Automotive. Our pick up was having hick ups and needed a check up. We were able to drop it off just fine, we were called to let us know what was found, how it could be repaired and got an estimate that was pretty close to the money. It was also finished right when they said it would be. Again, this was not our first trip here, and although there are MANY places we could go for our vehicles, we will continue to choose this one as long as things continue to go well.

Thank you for keeping me informed regarding the work that was needed on the Jeep. I took it in for it's 75,000 mile maintenance, and also a squealing noise in the engine. I was told the squealing was from a leak in the radiator, and the radiator needed replaced. I am grateful that I now have interior heat and a working defroster, but the squeal is still there. I will keep an eye on it and get it back in the shop if it continues. Thanks for always being there in my time of need!

You guys are great! Tell Toddy that the mystery incision in the shrouding near the radiator on the Sherwood 2008 4runner was me replacing a headlight bulb. I had to loosen the housing to get the bulb in and out. I had forgotten about that when she showed me the mystery cut that seemed to record an accident.
